M. Jean Morris

M. Jean Morris, 94, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Unity Point Health Center in Bettendorf.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bettendorf.

She was born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa on July 31, 1927, the daughter of  Michael and Veronica (Sable) Rebarcak.  On May 25, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harry Morris in Ft. Dodge.  He preceded her in death on January 10, 1989.

Jean was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and homemaker.  In later years, she worked as a door greeter at Sam’s Club in Davenport.

She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and was a devoted and faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Carol A. (Jack Funderburk) Dale of Bettendorf; her son, Mike Morris of Leesburg, Florida; her grandchildren, Michael (Kateri), John, Mitch (Jenna), Christin, Chris (Ashley), Chad (Natasha), and Kelly; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Helen; and her brothers, John and Ken.
