Mona Jean VanWinkle, 82, of Davenport passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Harmony Utica Ridge, Davenport.
A Celebration of Life will be at Duck Creek Lodge on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mona was born on January 7, 1942 in Davenport, the daughter of James and Pauline (Myers) Morrison. After raising her seven children, she moved to LaCrosse, Wisconsin where she worked as a line supervisor at Inland Printing. She later returned to Davenport. Mona had the greenest thumb, loved all animals and Wisconsin. She loved fiercely, was honest and sincere, and her sharp wit is something that all who had the pleasure of knowing her will cherish for a lifetime.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Duane VanWinkle, Rick VanWinkle, Deb McLain, Mindy (Eddie) Curry, Terry (Jodi) VanWinkle, Jim (KaLee) VanWinkle, and Alissa (Wade) Hansen; 15 grandchildren, Richard, Jeffrey, David, Christopher, Timothy, Ashley, Dawson, Samantha, Steffany, Matthew, Elaina, Rhys, Ellis, June, and Finn; 13 great-grandchildren, Forrest, Tyler, Xander, Sophia, Hudson, Ezra, Cedar, Alex, Max, Isabelle, Aurora, Nora, and Stella; sisters, Shirley Bell, Jodie Knoke, Linda (Todd Hildebrandt) Johnston, and Pat Pintar; and brother-in-law, Mike Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Bill Morrison and Laurie Miller, a brother in infancy, Carl “Punkie” Stivers, and brother-in-law, Gary Bell.
