Myrna Ruth Tharp, 68, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Sunday, November 18, 2008 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the McCausland Cemetery, McCausland, Iowa. Those wishing to attend her service should meet at the funeral home by 9:15 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
She was born October 13, 1939 in Mercer County, Missouri, the daughter of Jack & Avanelle (Holt) Wells. On January 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to W. A. Tharp in Princeton, Missouri.
Myrna was employed as a legal secretary for the Williamson Law Office in Davenport, Iowa.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life and she loved watching them participate in sports events and music. She was also an avid fan of NASCAR (especially Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr.). The Northern Iowa Panthers, the Bettendorf Bulldogs and the Chicago Bears were also on her list of favorites.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, W. A. Tharp; her daughter, Cinthia (Kirk) Schulting of Bettendorf; her sons, William Bradley (Julie) Tharp of Webster City, Iowa and Rodey Lane (Connie) Tharp of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Meredith (Corey) Bargfrede, Matt Tharp, Elizabeth Tharp, Michael Tharp, Daniel Tharp, Shayla Cudd and Kevin Schulting; her great-grandchildren, Delainey and Carson Bargfrede and her brother, Ronald Wells of Bettendorf. She is also survived by the Manchester Family, the Brix Family, Aunt Lorraine & Nathalie, uncles, aunts, cousins and the best friends anyone could ever be blessed with.
Myrna was preceded in death by her twin-daughters, Jerri Jack Lynn and Terri Shawn Lee; her sister-in-law, Jerri Wells; and by her parents.
