Myrtle A. Bogart

          Myrtle A. Bogart, 83, of Bettendorf passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family.

          Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Monday, December 18^th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

          Myrtle was born on May 16, 1940 in Kirkwood, Illinois the daughter of Gilbert and Vera (Davis) Scalf.  On June 27, 1992 she married Jerry W. Bogart at Trinity Church in Rock Island.  Myrtle worked as a forklift, tug driver at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline.  She enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing cards, puzzles, and camping.  She will be fondly remembered for always seeing the good in people, her faithfulness in God, and her thoughtful and giving nature.  She handled everything in life with grace and kindness.  Myrtle was a member of John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline Local Union 865 and Bettendorf Assembly of God Church.

          Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Jerry Bogart of Bettendorf; daughters, Mary Lund of Moline and Dawn (Rick) Hatalski of Rosman, North Carolina,; five grandchildren, Lisa (Nick) Yarham, Ricky (Sarah Church) Lund, Kelly (Todd) Hulbert, Joy Bradbury, and Joshua Boyd; six great-grandchildren, Cole and Madison Yarham, Kyla, Jace, and Lilly Hulbert, and James Lund; brother, Thomas Scalf of East Moline; step-daughter, Suzanne (Steve Gorman) Bogart of Cambridge, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews who Myrtle adored.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Darin and Larry Boyd; daughter, Karen Bradbury; and siblings, Willma, Rolland, Samuel, and Frank Scalf.
