Nancy Gaghagen

Nancy A. Gaghagen, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Genesis East Campus.

Nancy was born May 18, 1929 in Davenport, the daughter of John T. and Grace (Grandy) Hillock. She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Gaghagen on April 19, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2006 after 59 years of marriage.

Nancy worked as a telephone operator for 17 years. She had a true enthusiasm for life, as she loved to live life to the fullest and on her own terms. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, and making baby quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nancy cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Carol (Tony) McGinnis of Rock Island, Illinois; sons, Kim (Donna) Gaghagen of Chico, California, Rick (Rosa) Gaghagen of Davenport, and John Gaghagen of Davenport, Iowa; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vicki; son, Danny; brother, John Hillock; and sisters, Betty Wolffe and Grace Fulscher.

A celebration of life service will be held at Devils Glen Park in Bettendorf, Iowa on October 15, 2017 at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization of your choice. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
