Nancy Horton

Nancy Joan Horton, 77, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus in Davenport.

She was born Dec 6, 1938 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois to parents Earl Forrest and Louise M. (Kirgan) Horton.

Both as a child and adult Nancy had a tremendous passion for reading. Amongst her favorite authors were Louis L’amour, William Johnstone, Tom Clancy and Iris Johansen. She was a kind and caring person who loved unconditionally.

She is survived by her daughter, Erin Lee Horton (Lacie Workman) of Davenport; her sister Nadine Eichhorn of Davenport; and her niece Jackie (David) Moeller who lovingly cared for her the last four years of her life. The family gives them and anyone else who cared for Nancy their greatest gratitude.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews of whom she loved greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Forrest Horton and Louise M. (Kirgan) Horton; her sister Betty Jean Horton; and her brothers, Charles F. Horton, Dale Horton, Walter L. Horton, Lloyd M. Horton, Robert F. Horton and Roy Gene Horton.

A viewing will be held on Saturday June 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at McGinnis–Chambers Funeral Home at 644 River Dr. Bettendorf, Iowa 52722. Immediately following will be a gravesite service at the Blue Grass Cemetery in Blue Grass, Iowa. There will be a reception at the Blue Grass American Legion following the gravesite service.
