Nancy P. Hughes, 74, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at her home.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. till the time of service Tuesday. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
Nancy was born January 31, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Ray and Naomi (Zugg) Cole. She was united in marriage to Jasper Leo Hughes in Davenport, Iowa on January 30, 1960 He preceded her in death July 6, 1977.
Nancy worked for many years in the dietary department of St. Luke’s Hospital, Davenport, Iowa. She enjoyed music and reading her bible.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Leah (Jan) Martensen, Sylvania, Ohio; her son, Leo (Tena) Hughes, Moline, Illinois and her grandchildren, Jordan, Brianna, Cameron, Kaitlyn and Kyleigh.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Laquita Henning and her brother, Dick Cole.
