Nancy Jenkins

Nancy Jane Jenkins, 82, of Eldridge passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 in the comfort and peace in Moments at Grand Haven in Eldridge, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 25th, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge.   Private funeral services and burial for Nancy will be Monday, February 26th.

Nancy Jane Garlock was born July 18, 1935, to Ernest and Doris (McGowan) Garlock in Clear Lake, Iowa.  Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Dick Jenkins, December 20, 1952. She was employed by K-Mart, Bettendorf, Iowa, for 14 years and later worked 10 years for Dr.’s Papke and Cole in Eldridge.

Nancy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge.  Her greatest joy in life was her family and she always treasured their visits. At the holidays, she loved to bake Christmas cookies of every kind, especially her frosted cut-out sugar cookies. She would make trays up and deliver to her family and friends.

Those left to honor Nancy’s memory include her daughter, Pam (Dean) Engelbrecht, Davenport; son Kevin (Debbie) Jenkins, Eldridge; grandchildren Darin (Shelli) Engelbrecht, Davenport, Deena (Phillip) Dhuse, Ottawa, Illinois; Lindsay (Chad) Holdorf, San Francisco, California; and Kelsey Jenkins, Eldridge; great-grandchildren Dylan and Nolan Engelbrecht and Lindy Jane and Caston Dhuse. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Geneva Ulrich, Mason City, Iowa; several nieces and nephews,and two very special friends, Jack Carmody, Eldridge, and Debbie Baetke, Long Grove.

Preceding Nancy in death were her husband, parents, sisters Elaine Wade and Barbara Blau, brothers Robert, Larry, and Neil Garlock.

Memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church, or Moments ℅ Grand Haven Retirement Village, Eldridge.  The family would like to take this time to thank Dr. Pat McCaw, Heartland Hospice and especially the unending love and support of the staff at Grand Haven during Nancy’s journey home.
