Nancy L. Oswald, 79, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family to benefit the historic Summit Church in rural Davenport or to Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Davenport.
Nancy was born January 15, 1937 in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur & Ruth (Kirby) Littrel. She was united in marriage to Rudy Oswald on September 14, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Nancy was employed with Bettendorf Bank for four years and cleaned houses for thirty years. She enjoyed bowling, having been a 60-year member of the Davenport-Bettendorf Women’s Bowling Association. She was also a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport for many years. She also enjoyed golf, knitting and crocheting, and the company of her loving family and grandchildren.
Those left to honor Nancy’s memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen & David Evans of Bettendorf; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas & Rebecca Oswald of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Kris (Heather) Oswald, Joshua (Jenn) Evans, Melissa (Adam) Norin, Jacob (Amy) Evans, Heather Evans and Amanda (Andrew) Tomic; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lora Peterson of Arkansas and Alma Huber of Colorado; her brothers, Walter Littrel of Muscatine, Iowa, Lyle (Charlene) Littrel of Washington State and Alvin Littrel of Blue Grass, Iowa; and her special friends, Vic & Judy Dibbern of Bettendorf.
In addition to her husband, Rudy, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
