Nancy D. Wermes

Nancy D. Wermes, 75, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Tustin, California passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Bickford Cottage in Davenport.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Following the service, she will be buried next to her late husband in El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest, California.

Nancy was born on April 2, 1949, in Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Martin and Irene (Natzke) Uttech. On August 7, 1976, she was united in marriage to Ronald Clark Wermes in Florida. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2013.

She was a devoted wife, mom & grandma who enjoyed sewing, crafts, doing crossword puzzles and listening to talk radio. She had a quirky sense of humor that her friends and family were always fond of. 

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Christina Engstrom of Tustin, California, Becky (Mike) Burns of Mission Viejo, California, and Ryan (Katherine) Wermes of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Bradley, Samantha, Kevin, Emmaleigh, Blake, Owen & Colton; her sister, Jenny (Jerry) VanRaden of Forreston, Illinois; and her brothers, Tom (Mary) Uttech of Saukville, Wisconsin and Gary (Judy) Uttech of Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
