Naomi B. Weas

Naomi B. Weas, 80, a resident of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at her home due to declining health.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mrs. Weas was born June 17, 1927 in Austin, Minnesota to Joseph F. and Marsha C. Hodges.
Naomi married Virgil C. Bailey, Sr. on March 20, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa. She later married Frank F. Weas on January 27, 1961 in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death.
Naomi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew her. She always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She enjoyed being a foster mother for 42 years.
Her favorite hobby was making stuffed animals and dolls that she sold from her home and store, “Naomi’s Stuffed Toyland”.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Bob) Ball of Davenport, Amy Weas of Davenport, Cindy (fiancé Rich Woeckener) Weas of Geneseo, Illinois and Marsha (Cory) Frerichs of Moline, Illinois; her sons, Virgil C. (Karen) Bailey, Jr. of Davenport, Donald Bailey of Davenport and Frank (fiancé Kristin Reiss) Weas of Davenport; her sister, Verona Potter of Davenport; her brothers, Joseph P. (Mary Jane) Hodges of Mishawaka, Indiana and David (Ann) Hodges of Davenport; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Frank; she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deanna Bailey; stepson, Jack Weas; sister, Ruth Carraher and brother, Daniel Hodges.
