Natalie Proffitt

Natalie P. Proffitt, 80, of Bettendorf, died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Natalie was born October 11, 1935 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Matthew H. & Violet A. (Day) Miller.  She was united in marriage to Ronald P. Proffitt on October 3, 1953 in Mystic, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on June 8, 2014.

After several years as a homemaker, Natalie earned her nursing degree and was employed as a LPN at Bettendorf Health Care for twenty-five years.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles and the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Alicia (Keith) Seligman of Bettendorf; her sons, Ronald “Carl” Proffitt of Bettendorf, Larry Proffitt of Centerville, Iowa and Robert “Doug” (Sharon) Proffitt of Rock Island, Illinois; her grandchildren, Gerrod (Amanda) Andresen, Jamie Andresen, Susan Proffitt, Veronica Proffitt, Paul Proffitt, James Proffitt, Bradley Proffitt, Joseph (Darcie) Seligman, Kiley (Nathan) Roth and Bailey Proffitt; several great-grandchildren; her sisters, Marilyn Mangenello of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Gail Bales of Davenport; and her son-in-law, Rodney Huffman of Bettendorf,

In addition to her husband, Ronald, Natalie was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Linda Huffman; her granddaughter, Rebecca Proffitt, her brother, Richard Miller; and her sister, Marlene Mangenello.
