Nelda A. Porter

Nelda A. Porter, 77, a resident of Bettendorf, died Friday, June 18, 2004 at Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 21, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Nelda was born on September 5, 1926 in Maysville, IA, the daughter of Rudolph & Alice (Kelper) Lamp. On June 6, 1948, she married Robert J. Porter in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1993. Nelda was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards in various clubs. She also was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and was an avid bowler for over 25 years.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela & Tim Huber, of Batavia, IL; her son and his fiance', Richard Porter & Jan Aplin, of Blue Grass, IA; her granddaughter, Leslie Porter, of Louisiana; and her sister and brother-in-law, Arlene & Sidney Pelo, of Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her granddaughter, Mindy Huber on January 11, 2001.
