Nicholas Germain

Nicholas Ryan Germain, 19, a resident of Buffalo, Iowa died on Saturday, January 29, 2011.  Nick was recovering from a serious illness when his life was cut short by an auto accident.  He was a bright, happy young man who was pursuing his future, combining work and school.  His nineteen years on this earth brought joy to all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa.  Private family services will be held on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nicholas Germain Memorial Fund in care of his family.

He was born in Davenport, Iowa the beloved son of Christopher & Nancy (Vick) Germain and was a 2010 graduate of Davenport West High School.  Nick was attending Scott Community College at the John Blong Center in Davenport in addition to working as a welder at Seaberg Industries of Rock Island, Illinois.

Nick was an active & energetic person who enjoyed cars and sports, especially baseball, football, soccer & Tae-Kwan-Do.

Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Chris & Nancy Germain of Buffalo; his brother, Michael Germain of Buffalo; his grandparents, Jean Schwartz of Dubuque, Iowa, Bob & Marlys Vick of Buffalo and Gary Germain of Dubuque; his great-grandparents, Vida Shireman of Dubuque and Maurice Germain of Dubuque; along with many other relatives and wonderful friends.
