Norma Gayle Moser, 70, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, died on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 10, 2010, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Iuka. Memorials may be made to Iowa Public Radio. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date in Bettendorf. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born October 28, 1939, in Iuka, Mississippi, the beloved daughter of Ward C. & Blanche (Helton) Moser. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Mississippi Southern University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Norma worked in federal service for many years and retired as a budget analyst from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1994.
Her memberships included the Solo Steppers Square Dance Club, the Sitzmachers Ski Club, and the Singletons.
Among the things she enjoyed were dancing, attending the theater, listening to music, reading, and travel.
Those left to honor her memory include her sisters, Marie Moser of Memphis, Tennessee; Marion Hawkins of Houston, Texas; Shirley Poteet and her husband John of San Antonio, Texas; her nieces, Ann Perry and husband Thad of Nashville, Tennessee; and Betsy Dodson and husband Tom of Houston, Texas; her nephews Tom Hawkins of Comfort, Texas; and R. W. Rushing and wife Haley of Austin, Texas; and eight grand-nieces & nephews.
Her parents preceded her in death.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the excellent medical care from Manor Care at Utica Ridge in Davenport, Trinity at Terrace Park Hospital of Bettendorf, Select Specialty Hospital of Davenport and the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House of Bettendorf.
