Orville Sneed

Orville E. Sneed, 84, of North Liberty, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4th at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Orville was born on January 6, 1931 in Davenport the son of Wellington A. and Velma P. (Nelson) Sneed.  On October 1, 1951 in Rock Island, he married Lillian Underholt.

Orville was a machinist, working for Williams & White in Moline for 11 years. He then worked as a custodian for numerous places in and around the Iowa City, Coralville area. Orville enjoyed computer games, motorcycles, traveling and working on cars.

Those left to honor his memory include, three sons, Jerry (Kathy) Sneed of Colfax, David (Beth) Sneed of Davenport and Robert Sneed of Iowa City; one daughter, Debra (Gary Newman) Bicket of Cedar Rapids; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Sneed of Pasadena, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two brothers, Kenneth and Francis.
