Oscar L. "Bear" Schmidt

Oscar L. “Bear” Schmidt, 32, died Saturday, October 16, 2004 in Davenport. A memorial service will take place 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be one hour before the services. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bear was born on April 1, 1972 in Davenport, the son of Elizabeth Irene (Hines) and Oscar L. Schmidt, Sr. He was mainly employed in construction and home improvement. He enjoyed playing pool with his family and friends, fishing, hunting, camping, playing horseshoes and spending time with his boys.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Elizabeth Irene Sanders; his step-father, Francis Sanders, Sr.; his sons, Justin, Nicholus, and Brandon Schmidt; his sisters, Mary White and her husband, Sean, Shelly Wulf, Lisa Sanders, Julie Schmidt, Holly Schmidt, and Cindy Sanders and her special friend, Ricky Boese; his brother, Francis Sanders, Jr., all of Davenport; his grandmother, Gladys Dilley, Bettendorf; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and by 3 aunts and 3 uncles.
