Patricia E. Buffington

Patricia E. Buffington, 86, of Buffalo, Iowa passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.

Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no service at this time.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Patricia was born on July 21, 1937 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of George and Minnie (Boyer) Kaucher.  On May 24, 1954, she was united in marriage to Leslie Buffington in Buffalo.  She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1955.  Patricia was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma.  She and her husband worked for the Corps of Engineers as campground and park attendants for over 20 years.  Together they enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Wagon Wheelers and Circle Four.  Patricia enjoyed crafting, canning vegetables, and collecting spoons, buffaloes, and cardinals.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Leslie Buffington of Buffalo; her children, Douglas (Corrine) Buffington of Preemption, Illinois, Cindy (Bill) Koeppel of DeWitt, Leslie (Patty) Buffington II of Shenandoah, Iowa, Cheryl Honeycutt of Davenport, Carol Goodrick of Buffalo, and Joseph Buffington of Buffalo; daughter-in-law, Cathy Buffington of Davenport; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Judy Jewett of Buffalo and Helen Kaucher of Davenport.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald; sons-in-law, Arthur Honeycutt and Shawn Goodrick; daughter-in-law, Crystal Buffington; grandson, Christopher Goodrick; and siblings, George, James, Carleen, and Marie.
