Patricia Johnson

Patricia Ann Johnson, 84, a resident of Bettendorf, died on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.  Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be that day beginning at 12 noon.  Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Christian Church or the American Lung Association.

Patricia was the daughter of Hugh C. Chance and Ann C. (Nissen) Chance.  She attended Davenport Schools; graduating from Davenport Central in 1949.  She married Hugh W. Johnson and later married Earl L. Johnson on October 10, 1994.  She worked for the Davenport Bank in the Trust Department and retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1994.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Earl Johnson; her daughters Marsha Johnson, Dayle Ann (Jim) Leach; son Hugh “Corky” (Carol) Johnson; granddaughter Jayme Fontanez; grandson, Chad (Kristin) Stevens and great-grandchilden, Samantha Fontanez and Grace Stevens.  She had several cousins and sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson; nieces Jo (Don) Cohrs and Jacque (Ray) Zirtzman and their families; and nephews Chuck, Michael (Sandee), Steve (Naomi), Dean (Mary) Chance and their families.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Chance; father, Hugh Chance; aunts, Edna Nissen and Louise Nissen; uncle, Karl (Grace) Nissen; step-brothers, Hugh, Dean, and Leverne Chance; and sisters-in-laws, Margaret, Madeline and Velma Chance.
