Patricia Claeys

Patricia M. Claeys, 71, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at Park View Lutheran Church in Park View, Iowa.  Pat’s family kindly requests that casual dress be worn.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the church.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grand Mound Sportsmen's Club or to the Grand Mound Volunteer Fire Department.

Pat was born April 5, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin E. & Frances M. (Gravert) Hinkle.  She was united in marriage to Ted J. Claeys on July 20, 1968 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Pat was a Registered Nurse for forty years, earning her degree from Scott Community College and her master’s degree in nursing from St. Francis in Peoria, Illinois.  She was retired from Genesis Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center in Clinton.

Pat assisted Ted with farming for 35 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and the company of her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ted; her sons, Matthew Claeys (Thomas Luther) of Grand Mound; Mark (Marrytje) Claeys of Eldridge; her grandchildren, Ryan (Katelyn) Claeys, Allison Claeys, Caleb Claeys, Jarrett Claeys, Annika Harris, Alex Claeys and Aric Claeys; her great-grandson, Maverick Claeys; her brother and sister-in-law, Doug & Karma Hinkle of DeWitt; and her brother-in-law, John Smith of Donahue, Iowa.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Pam Hinkle and Deb Smith.
