Patricia A. Schroeder, 78, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 7th at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Iowa.
She was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on November 21, 1945, the daughter of Leo Augustus and Mildred Christina (Ryer) Butler. Pat graduated from Holy Child High School in Waukegan, Illinois, attended Ottumwa Heights College in Ottumwa, Iowa and graduated from Marycrest College in Davenport.
On July 2, 1972, she was united in marriage to Mark C. Schroeder at Great Lakes, Illinois.
Pat was an elementary teacher at Pleasant View Elementary School in Bettendorf retiring in August of 2010 after 30 years of dedicated and faithful service.
She was a devoted wife, mom & grandma and thoroughly loved her many years of teaching
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Mark; her daughter, Andrea (Jeremy) Toney of Colona, Illinois; her son, Lance Schroeder; her grandchildren, Weston and Grace; her sisters, Debby (Eric) Diaz of Stafford, Virginia, Janice (Paul) McCool of Stratham, New Hampshire and Tina Dugan of Brenham, Texas; her brother-in-law, Billy Gregory, along with many other relatives and wonderful friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Gregory, her brother, Leo Butler and her parents, Leo and Mildred Butler.
