Patricia Young

Patricia L. Young, 86, of Davenport, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the Scott County Humane Society.

Pat was born October 5, 1926 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Chester & Ethelyn (Welsch) Muns.

A 1944 graduate of Davenport High School, Pat was united in marriage to William E. Young on April 1, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.

Pat had worked most recently with the Rock Island Arsenal as a secretary and previously with International Harvester.

Her memberships included Anne Ken Izaack Walton, the Moose Lodge, the Beaux Arts Festival where she had served as past-president and the Scott County Humane Society.

Pat enjoyed reading and various crafts.  She also spent much time volunteering at church, nursing homes, 15 years at the Good Samaritan Center and the Beaux Arts Festival.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bill; her daughters, Linda (Greg Nelson) Beadle and Gay (Larry) Jasper; her son, Richard (Kimberly) Young; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her dog, Buffy.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Richard Beadle II.
