Patricia Anne Furness

Patricia Anne Furness, 81, a former resident of Walcott, Iowa died on Monday, November 27, 2006 at Trinity at Terrace Park Hospital in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Walcott Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association (7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231) or to the American Epilepsy Society (342 N. Main St., West Hartford, CT 06117).
She was born September 6, 1925 in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Clarke Gardner & Myrl Beatrice (Kester) Kugler. On March 17, 1944, she was united in marriage to Dr. Hugh Carter Furness in Inglewood, California. He preceded her in death in July of 1976.
Patricia worked as office manager in her husband’s office until his death. She then worked for Robur, Inc., retiring in 1986.
Her memberships included AARP and the American Legion Auxillary.
Among the things she enjoyed were sewing, reading and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Mryl Anne Stoffers of Walcott; her son, Eugene Carter Furness of Blue Grass, Iowa; her grandchildren, Kimberly Haase of Wylie, Texas, Kent Helble of Walcott, Keith Furness and David Furness, both of Davenport; her great-grandchildren, Dalton Haase, Amanda Trimble, Nicholas Helble, Shawn Helble, Carter Furness & Faith Furness; her brother, Frank Mead of Friendship, Wisconsin; her special aunt, Margaret Kester of Davenport; and numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Clarke Kugler Jr.
