Patricia J. Caldwell, 80, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Friday, September 9, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport where she was a member. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born March 25, 1925 in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Edward & Georgia (Jackson) O’Brien. On April 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Floyd B. Caldwell in Marshalltown, Iowa. Floyd preceded her in death on March 5, 1984.
Patricia was employed as a property book officer at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1989 after 29 years of employment.
She was a die-hard Cub fan, enjoyed bowling and loved to play bingo and visit the gambling boats.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters & sons-in-law, Deborah Reeser of Davenport, Denise & Edward Shade of Murrayville, Illinois, Doreen Maynard of Port St. John, Florida and Dietta & Vern Longtimm of Davenport; her sons & daughters-in-law, Jerry & Chris Caldwell of Davenport and Floyd & Marilyn Caldwell of Pleasant Hill, Illinois; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Cecelia Howard of Fairfield, Iowa, Rosie Rogers of LeClaire, Iowa, Barb Knapper of Hachinshak, Minnesota and Sara Luedt of Moline, Illinois; her brother, Edward O’Brien of Moline; and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Marie Caldwell; four sisters; five brothers; and her parents.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Hall & staff, Genesis Hospice and Genesis Medical Center for their care, love and concern during this difficult time.
