Patricia (Pat) Reichert Blake, 78, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away at her home in Bettendorf on Friday, July 30, 2010 surrounded by her loved ones.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Pat was born January 1, 1932 in Muscatine, Iowa. She was the eighth child of Oliver & Wilma (Fischer) Reichert. She married Bill, her husband of fifty-seven years, on January 23, 1953 in Davenport, Iowa.
Pat was a wife, mother, homemaker and life maker. She loved raising her children and babysitting for so many other children in her home throughout the years. She enjoyed camping with Bill and was a member of Pearl City Campers for many years. She especially enjoyed trout fishing in her favorite fishing hole at Bailey’s Ford Park in Manchester, Iowa.
The entire family offers their sincerest thanks to Carol, Mary and the rest of the Genesis Hospice staff that has been with them and helped them during this journey.
Pat is survived by her husband, Bill Blake of Bettendorf; three daughters: Dianna Burger and her husband, Rob of Trussville, Alabama; Debra Simpson and her husband, Colin of Lexington, Kentucky; and Heather Blake of Bettendorf; five grandchildren: Chad (Jennifer) Snyder, Todd Snyder, Mark (Jennifer) Snyder, Anne Simpson and Jennifer (George) Petro; six great-grandchildren: Tyler Toom, Devin Snyder, Rebecca Snyder, Kara Snyder, Zachary Snyder and Gage Gugin; siblings: Vera Webb, Loretta Drawbaugh, Pauline Webb, Paul (Jaci) Reichert and Jerry Reichert, all of Muscatine, and Sandy (Howard) VanWinkle of Bettendorf; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma Fischer and Oliver Reichert; five brothers: Oliver Jr., Richard, Ronald, Robert and Jack Reichert; and three sisters: Gertrude Brown, Jean Thorpe and Donna Mae Reichert.
