Mrs. Patti Ann Berens died peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2006, at her home with her family after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.
Patti Ann Berens was born in Ida Grove, Iowa, on April 21, 1960. Patti was the daughter of LaVonne (Streck - Christiansen) Murray, and the late Donald “Petey” Christiansen. A graduate of Ida Grove High School in 1978, who then went on to graduate from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa, where she became a Licensed Certified Nurse.
She married Thomas Patrick Berens on November 23, 1984, and after that had two beautiful daughters, Paige Elizabeth Berens and Megan Mae Berens, both of Bettendorf, Iowa.
She was employed as a nurse at Illini Hospital in Silvis, Illinois for many years. Her recent employment was with Trinity Medical Health System in Rock Island, Illinois. A dedicated nurse and friend to many sick people who were blessed to cross paths with her.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf, Iowa.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her love of life and those around her gave her the courage, strength, and determination to stay with us as long as she could before God decided to take her to heaven. We are grateful for the time we had with her. She has taught us so much and has left an everlasting mark on the hearts of all who love and miss her. She lived her life with “no regrets” and each day to the fullest, and until we meet her again, may God hold her in the hollow of his hand.
Surviving to honor her memory is her husband, Thomas Patrick and their two children, Paige Elizabeth Berens and Megan Mae Berens, Bettendorf, Iowa, her caring three sisters, Sandra (Michael) Einfeldt, of Seattle, Washington, Jan (Joe) Koenigs, of Sioux City, Iowa, and Joy (Melvin) Booth, of Carroll, Iowa, and her two farmer brothers, Brad Christiansen and Brian (Lisa) Christiansen, of Ida Grove, Iowa, and her loving mother LaVonne (Streck - Christiansen) Murray, of Ida Grove, Iowa.
Preceding her in death in 1988 was her father Donald “Petey” Christiansen.
