Paul Black

Our beloved son, Paul, a resident of Bettendorf passed away unexpectedly at home on July 4, 2018 at the age of 27. He fought a seizural disorder since age 5.

He was born in Blue Island, Illinois on May 26, 1991, the beloved son of Russell and Jean (Scheuermann) Black. Paul was a 2010 graduate of Bettendorf High School and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Bettendorf. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and baseball in general. His greatest joy in life was playing baseball with the Davenport Challenger League.

Cremation has been requested. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Asbury United Methodist Church of Bettendorf. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Miracle Field Project through the Davenport Parks & Recreation website.

He will be missed by his parents, Russell and Jean; his brothers, Colin and Ben, all of Bettendorf; and many friends and other family members.

His battle is over….he won his war.
