Paul Eugene Houk, Jr. 49, a resident of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Davenport, IA, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Phoenix.
A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Marquette Park in Davenport with a potluck dinner to follow. Memorials may be made to the family.
Born on April 13, 1965 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Paul was the son of Paul, Sr. and Jeanne (Weir) Houk. On September 6, 1996, he married Leslie Ann Zaabadick. They later divorced.
During his life, Paul worked in animal control, security and as a truck driver. He was an all-around handy man who loved being outdoors, especially near the mountains, where he spent countless hours hiking and exploring. Paul loved art, sculpting, animals, fixing things and working with his hands. Most of all he loved and adored his children, and hated being separated from them.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Joshua Joseph Houk and Sarah Elizabeth Houk, both of Whittier, CA; his parents, Paul, Sr. and Jeanne Houk of Davenport; siblings, Gena M. Heritage of Maquoketa, IA, Nikki R. (John) Madison of Andalusia, IL, Lezlie Lombardi of Colona, IL, James M. (Andrea) Houk of Davenport and John S. (Tarah) Houk of Rock Island; many nieces and nephews.
