Paul Houk Sr.

Paul E. Houk Sr., 81, of Davenport, died Monday, June 17, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2019 at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Douds, Iowa.

Paul was born October 12, 1937 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Ben and Maxine (Doran) Houk. He was united in marriage to Jeanne L. Weir on October 5, 1957 in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2017. Paul was a machinist with Caterpillar for 20 years, and was a skilled woodworker, liked bowling, and was an avid reader of western pocket books, scrabble, puzzles and his beloved dachshunds; Bailey, and Bandit.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Gena Heritage of Davenport, Nikki (John) Madison of Andalusia, Illinois and Lezlie Lombardi of Moline, Illinois; his sons, James (Andrea) Houk of Davenport and John (Tarah) Houk of Rock Island; 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; his son, Paul Jr, and his parents.
