Paul Ohlrogge

Paul A. Ohlrogge, 65 of Kewanee, IL, formerly of Riverdale, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Royal Oaks Care Center in Kewanee.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Royal Oaks Care Center in Kewanee, IL.

Born on August 27, 1947 in Oshkosh, WI, Paul was the son of Paul William and Beatrice Irene (Darrow) Ohlrogge. Paul worked with the Handicapped Development Center in Davenport before moving to Royal Oaks Care Center.

Paul had a love for music. He enjoyed making cassette tapes for his family and friends. Paul was enamored with Ford cars. He was Baptist by faith.

Survivors include: his sister, Ruth Ann Brand-Fisher of Splendora, TX; niece, Sheri (Glen) Simmons; great-nephew, Aaron Simmons; his cousin and guardian, Jean (Darrell) Machalek of LeClaire; and numerous other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Paul’s family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff at Royal Oaks Care Center for their love and care for Paul during the last years of his life.
