Paul Viner, 61, of Park View, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Long Grove. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14th at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the family to be donated to a wildlife conservation program to be decided at a later date. Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.
Paul was born November 12, 1954 to Wayne and Joan Viner and raised in LaCrosse, Wisconsin as the second of 12 children. He was united in marriage to Christine Kerkhof on July 19, 1980.
Paul spent his career with the Natural Resources Conservation Service working as a district conservationist in the Iowa counties of Muscatine, Greene and Scott before retiring in January of 2010, so he could spend more time kayaking, hunting, fishing and visiting his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Christine; children, Brian (Amy) Viner of Graniteville, South Carolina, Jessica (Justin) Maiers of Rochester, Minnesota and Aaron Viner of Washington, Iowa; grandsons, Owen, Dylan and Aiden Viner and granddaughter Jayme Maiers.
He was preceded in death by his brother Tim Viner and sister-in-law Judy Viner.
