Paul G. Vilt, 60, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died suddenly on Friday, April 8, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home where a Loyal Order of the Moose Tribute will be offered at 6:30 P.M. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born August 11, 1944 in Coal City, Illinois, the son of Rudolf & Virginia (Bell) Vilt. On April 13, 1996, he was united in marriage to Adena Platt in Milan, Illinois.
Paul served in the U.S. Army for 32 years. Following his military career, he was employed at the Joliet, Illinois Arsenal, worked as a truck driver, was an integral part of the construction of Interstate 55 from Illnois to Alabama and in later years, worked as a professional chef.
He was a member and 13-year officer of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Rock Island, Illinois and a member of the Gardner, Illinois American Legion Post.
Among the things he enjoyed were boating on the river, collecting Hot Wheels and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Adena; his daughter & son-in-law, Paula & Luis Moreno of Kankakee, Illinois; his sons & daughters-in-law, E-5 Patrick & Lisa Vilt of Montgomery, Alabama and Michael & Dawn Vilt of Mazon, Illinois; his step-daughter & her husband, Xiomara & Gregory Levsen of Davenport; his step-son, Martin McKay of Davenport; his grandchildren, Mirrissa Fraher, Jeremiah Fraher, Gage Siegel, Anton Moreno, Amber Marie Vilt, Bryce Vilt, Austin Vilt, Aaron Vilt, Dennis Levsen & Dustin Levsen; and his brothers, Alvin Ray Vilt of Morris, Illinois, Allen Roy Vilt of Kankakee and Arthur Dale Vilt of Schaumburg, Illinois.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and by his granddaughter, Amber Michelle Vilt.
