Peggy Elizabeth (Rakestraw) Crawford, 72, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Manor Care Utica Ridge, Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Peggy was born August 10, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee the daughter of Winford and Cecille (Wahlen) Joyner.  From a young age she was raised by her grandparents.

She worked on the bread line at Wonder Bread in Davenport for twenty-seven years retiring in 2001.

She was united in marriage to Edward “TC” Crawford on February 3, 2001 in Bettendorf.

She enjoyed camping, traveling, shopping at Goodwill, baking, cooking and watching the “Western Channel”.  She loved dogs, especially her beloved “Rebel”.  She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Edward “TC”, Bettendorf; her daughters, Karen Rakestraw, Madison, Georgia, Sharon (Scott) Sobie, Bettendorf and Cindy Crawford, Florida; her sons, Thomas Brown, Memphis, Tennessee, Jerry Brown, Carbon Cliff, Illinois and Anthony Scott Rakestraw, Galesburg, Illinois; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helen and Joyce; her brothers, Cecil, Buddy and Benny and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents and her brother, Edwin.
