Peggy Jean Wiese, 78, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Thursday, February 05, 2015 at her home following an extended illness.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge.  The family will greet friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or to the family.

Born in Dixon, Iowa on March 29, 1936, she was the daughter of William and Harriet (Snyder) Britton and was a graduate of Wheatland (IA) High School.  On June 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Dale E. Wiese in Dixon, Iowa.

After her marriage, Peggy was an Air Force wife and homemaker.  Following Dale’s honorary discharge from the U.S. Air Force after a 20-year career, the family settled in Eldridge.  Peggy was formerly employed as a secretary for the North Scott School System and later worked at the Eldridge Tru-Value Hardware Store.

Her beloved family was the joy of her life and she also enjoyed sewing, cooking and watching the Chicago Cubs.  During their marriage, Dale and Peggy traveled extensively throughout the United States and overseas as well.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dale; her daughters, Pamela Wiese of Davenport and Jennifer (David) Lineback of Park View, Iowa; her sons, Douglas (Tami) Wiese of Wheatland and Dean (Deb) Wiese of Rock Island, Illinois; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Joyce Corken of Davenport; and a very special friend, Doris C. Smith of Bettendorf.

Her parents preceded her in death.
