Phyllis Ann Henry, 78, of Bettendorf, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to the American Cancer Society.
Phyllis was born June 24, 1933 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of John Harvey & Florence (Tracy) Leech. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Henry on December 5, 1953 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1991.
Phyllis had been a telephone operator in her earlier years and had recently been employed with Sam’s Club. She enjoyed cooking and tending to her rose gardens.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela & Russel Kehn and Pennie & Bruce Thompson of Bettendorf; her son, Robert W. Henry of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Shayla (Eric) Mattly, Beth Kehn, Nick (Addi) Thompson and Josh Henry; her great-grandchildren, Peyton Thompson, Anna Mattly, Liv Mattly, Tierney Mattly, Brynn Mattly and Ava Thompson.
In addition to her husband, Robert; Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Margaret McHendry and her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth & Darlene Leech.
