Phyllis Herrick

Phyllis A. Herrick, 63, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at her home after a long battle with cancer.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home. As per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.

Phyllis was born May 4, 1952 in Davenport, the daughter of Stanley and Inez (Podaski) Morgan.  She married Barry Herrick and from this marriage, they were blessed with three children. They later divorced. Phyllis was a good listener, a hard worker, independent and a private person. She was also a very caring person who would do anything for her family and friends. Phyllis was a great person and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was employed by Fireplaces Plus and QC TAS for many years.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Jason Herrick of Bettendorf, Nicole Holcomb and Jamie (Tony) Carr, both of Davenport; grandchildren, Austin, Shayla, Ethan, Gabriel, Alexis, Aaden, LaKayla, Kaitlin, and D’Anthony; brothers, Richard (Phyllis) Smith, Gene (Nancy) Morgan; sister, Sheryl (Bruce) Hokinson; several nieces and nephews; and cat, Zoe.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Beverly Sprout and Judith Sidwell.
