Phyllis A. Vest, 78, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Thursday, February 26, 2004 at her home.
Private family services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born September 7, 1925 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Clifford & Velma (Perrin) Scheberl. On December 21, 1943, she was united in marriage to Harold Henry Vest in Davenport. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1996.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Ray Barlow of Colona, Illinois; her sons & daughters-in-law, Harold & Brenda Vest of Galesburg, Illinois, Michael & Karen Vest of Moline, Illinois and Ron & Linda Vest of Las Vegas, Nevada; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and her brother, William Taylor in Colorado.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara.
