Rachel P. Louck, 81, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Trinity Bettendorf after a brief illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 30, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church of Bettendorf. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church, Bettendorf.
She was born January 16, 1929 in Pine Island, Minnesota, the daughter of Irvie & Lela (Hart) Elias. On January 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Louck in Hastings, Minnesota.
Rachel was a devoted wife & mom and in earlier years, had worked for Water Conly in Minnesota, the Quad-City Times and for the LeClaire State Bank of LeClaire, Iowa.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bettendorf and formerly a member of the LeClaire Assembly of God Church in LeClaire where she served at the Sunday School Superintendent, the director of Vacation Bible School and as the church treasurer.
Rachel was active in a multitude of church activities over the years, but her family was the true joy in her life and she treasured the times they spent together.
Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband, Donald; her daughters, Vickie (Phil) Frost of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cindy (Craig Behne) Stark of Bettendorf; her sons, Mike (Terry) Louck of Festus, Missouri and Dennis (Liz) Louck of Bettendorf; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Wesley Elias of Cedar Park,Texas and Howard Elias of Byron, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian; her brother, Ervin “June” Elias; and her parents.
The family extends their special thanks to Dr. Philip Habak for his friendship and professional care shown to Rachel.
