Ralland Lee "Rollie" Chesling

Ralland Lee “Rollie” Chesling, 69, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Westside Assembly of God Church in Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
Rollie was born February 10, 1940 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the son of Irvin H. and Irma L. (Ackley) Chesling. He was united in marriage to Patty M. Edwards in Fort Dodge on April 3, 1959.
Rollie was a professional land surveyor for McClure Engineering in East Moline, Illinois. He was state registered in Iowa, Illinois and Arizona.
He was a long time member of the Westside Assembly of God Church in Davenport and truly loved his church. He enjoyed bowling, stock car racing, golf, guns, and target shooting. His latest passion was his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He loved to sing and play the violin and was a member of the Elks Chanters Men’s Choral Group in Muscatine, Iowa. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life and he was thrilled to soon be a great-grandpa.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Patty; his daughter, Christine (Ron) Wicks, Davenport, Iowa; his sons, Scott Chesling, Moline, Illinois and David (Gina) Chesling of Muscatine, Iowa; his grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Chesling, Moline, Illinois, Weston & Miranda Chesling, Muscatine, Iowa, Aaron & Beth Chesling, St. Paul, Minnesota, Rebecca Chesling, Muscatine, Iowa, Andrew Wicks, Davenport, Iowa and Anna & Travis Johnson, Orange Park, Florida; his sister, Barbara Clester, Florida; his brother, Howard (Carol) Chesling, Florida and several aunts, uncles and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother Irvin and Helen Chesling; his mother, Irma Chesling and his father and mother-in-law, Harvey & Doris Edwards.
