Graveside services for Ralph A. Fulwider, 82, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend his service should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf by 1:30 P.M. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
He was born April 22, 1922 in Tipton, Iowa, the son of Cyrus & Helen (Gladfelter) Fulwider.
Ralph was employed at the Alcoa Company, Davenport for 29 years, retiring in 1984.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army with the 373rd Engineer Regiment in Northern France, Rhineland & central Europe. Upon his honorable discharge in 1945, he received the American Theater Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, the World War II Victory Medal and the Meritorious Service Unit Insignia.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Fulwider of Pleasant Valley.
