Ralph Wilson

d. October 15, 2009

Ralph Wilson, 80, of Princeton, Iowa, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 P.M., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Calvary Chapel Foursquare Church in LeClaire, Iowa where he was a member. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church.
Ralph was born July 25, 1929 in Eldridge, Missouri, the son of Lenuel & Vina (Stidham) Wilson. He was united in marriage to Pauline J. Lynch on September 21, 1951 in Argo, Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 24, 1993.
Ralph was retired from the former J. I. Case Company in Bettendorf where he had been employed for thirty-three years.
He was very active in his church where he had been a member for over 50 years. He had served as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon and a council member. It is said that Ralph’s handprint can be found throughout the building where he had done so much work. Ralph’s love for Jesus Christ was shared with many and he devoted his life to knowing Him. One of Ralph’s motivational sayings was “jubilee in heels” and, shortly before he passed away, Ralph attended his church one more time to “get the power.”
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Joyce (Alfred) Branscum, of Rockville, North Carolina and DeAnn (Thomas) Poling, of LeClaire; his sons, Gary (Caryl) Wilson, of Rock Falls, Illinois and Richard (Letta) Wilson, of Concord, North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his sister, Beatrice Carter, of Princeton; and his adopted christian family.
In addition to his wife, Pauline, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Marion and Larry Wilson; and his sisters, Pearl North, Faye Jennings, Rosella Moore, Wilma Moore and Maxine Wilson.
