Ralph Eugene Allsbrow, 77, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 18, 2003 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ralph was born July 11, 1926 in Davenport, the son of Spencer & Anna (Tappendorf) Allsbrow. He was united in marriage to Caroline M. White on June 25, 1947 in Davenport.
He was employed at Sivyer Steel Company in Bettendorf, retiring as maintenance foreman on July 15, 1984 after 38 years of service.
Following his retirement, he was active in arts & crafts for a number of years and was a life-member of the Northwest Davenport Turners.
During World War II, he served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged following the war.
Those left to honor his memory include, his beloved wife, Caroline; his daughter & son-in-law, Christine & Scott Steele of Belleville, Illinois; his sons & daughters-in-law, Jim & Lynne Allsbrow of Thornton, Colorado; Clayton & Jane Allsbrow of Tupelo, Mississippi and Ken Allsbrow of Davenport; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by, his sister, Lucille Kory; his brother Ed Allsbrow and three grandchildren.
