Ralph Thomas "Tom" Griffith

Ralph Thomas “Tom” Griffith, 80, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 28, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
He was born January 5, 1930 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Kirby & Eva Rae Griffith. On July 11, 1953, he was united in marriage to Elsie A. Peiserich in Bettendorf.
Tom was employed as an over-the-road truck driver and in earlier years, worked for the former Borden’s Dairy in Davenport.
Among the things he enjoyed were gardening (especially tomatoes), working with stained glass and the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams.
Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, Elsie; his sons, Bill Griffith of Davenport, Mark Griffith of Bettendorf and Matthew (Mashanna) Griffith of Riverdale, Iowa; his grandson, Cayden Matthew Griffith; and his sister, Elizabeth Brewer of Youngstown, Ohio.
His brother, William Griffith preceded him in death.
