Ray M. Bailey Sr., 74, of Davenport passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport. 

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Noon on Saturday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Inurnment will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. 

Ray was born August 21, 1950 in Agency, Iowa, the son of Robert and Rosemary (Moyer) Bailey. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1969. On November 16, 1974, he was united in marriage to Loretta J. Farrier. Ray worked for Tri City Blacktop for 36 years prior to his retirement. He was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and dirt track racing. He was also an outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. Above all, Ray enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and doting on his little dachshund, Sabrina.  

Those left to honor his memory are his sons, Ray (Jennifer) Bailey Jr. of McKinzie, Alabama, Russell (Amy) Bailey of Kewanee, Illinois, and Rodney (Susie) Bailey of Bettendorf; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Cindy (Mike) Cordes of Colorado, Randy (Jean) Bailey of Silvis, and Cathy (Frank) Blanchard of Coal Valley; and his beloved canine companion, Sabrina. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta in 2010; and siblings, Candy Pennington and Rick Bailey.
