Raydell Maurice Hurt, Jr. “Big Hurt #35”, 10 of Davenport, died Friday, September 2, 2016 from a bicycle accident in Davenport.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Gospel Mission Temple in Davenport. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on May 15, 2006 in Davenport, Raydell was the son of Raydell Maurice Hurt, Sr. and Stefanie Barker.
Currently, Raydell was a 5th Grader at Buffalo Elementary School. Prior to his enrollment at Buffalo he attended Wilson Elementary and Jackson Elementary. An avid sports fanatic, Raydell’s passion was baseball, which included six “All-Star” years. He also enjoyed basketball, football, boxing, fishing, swimming with his turtle, walks with his dogs, baseball drills with his sister, Raelinn, jumping on his trampoline and video games. Raydell was a dance machine and a math “wizard.”
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Raydell M. (Amber Martin) Hurt, Sr. and Stefanie (Nathan Fancsali) Barker, of Davenport; sisters, Daysha (Kain Hedgepeth) Hurt, Brittany Ramirez, Rayanna Hurt and Raelinn Hurt; brother, Brayden Miller; grandparents, Debbie Jones, Chris and Jeff Hendricksen, David Brown, Jane Johnston, Jennifer Hertner and Gilbert Quintanilla; step-mother, Michelle Neff; step-siblings, Heaven Jones, Destiny Jones and Carl Jones III; God-Brother, Kayden Jensen; seven aunts, three uncles and a nephew on the way.
His paternal grandfather, Raydell Maurice Quinn and his great-grandparents preceded him in death.
