Raymond E. Ludin, 77, of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Raymond E. Ludin Memorial Fund.
Raymond was born on May 11, 1936 in Rock Island, the son of Edward and Irene (Wolverton) Ludin. On February 1, 1955 in Rock Island, he married LeeAudry Spire. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2010.
Raymond was a machinist at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline. He retired in 1993 after 33 years of service. He attended Church of the Living Water in Muscatine. Raymond was a member of the National Rifle Association and UAW, local chapter through John Deere. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and sports, especially NASCAR. Raymond was the family comedian and story teller who loved life. He cherished his time spent with his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Jody (fiancé John Goldsmith) Jackson of Cedar Rapids, Karen (Gordon) Farnum of Bettendorf, Janine (Michael) Toolooze of Davenport and Shawn Russell of Davenport; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren with two on the way; two sisters, Sandra Cameron of Davenport and Debbie (Jim) Drish of Milan, IL; and his special God Son, Jimmy Drish of Milan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Sheryl Odell; son, Gregory Wayne Ludin; granddaughter, Melissa Farnum; brothers, Ron and Edward Ludin; and brother-in-law Buck Cameron.
