Raymond H. Meyer, 81, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at his home.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Raymond was born on February 23, 1925 in Welcome, Minnesota the son of Louis & Alinda (Hagan) Meyer.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Darlene Perthon on May 5, 1961 in DeWitt, Iowa. Raymond was employed by the former Riverside International Motor Trucks in Davenport as a mechanic and night foreman retiring in 1989 after 32 years of service.
He was a former member of the Davenport Eagles Club & enjoyed camping trips and tending to his garden.
Those left to honor his memory are his beloved wife, Darlene; his daughter, Joyce Meyer of Bettendorf; his sons & daughter-in-law, Roger & Debra Meyer of Dubuque, Iowa and Scott Meyer of Bellevue, Iowa; his granddaughters, Emily Ann and Katie Lynn; and his sister, Lounetta Consilio of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Carl.
