Raymond "Jack" Laing

Raymond “Jack” Laing, 93, died at his home on Thursday, August 19, 2004.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, August 22, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 4 PM. Memorials may be made to the Mission’s fund of First Assembly of God Church, Bettendorf. Final resting place is in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mr. Laing was born December 17, 1910, the son of Albert Peter Laing and Maude Mionel Pierce. He married Ruth Ellen Spencer, mother of his four sons, on November 28, 1940. She died in 1982. He married Doylene Manley in 1984. She died in 1994.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, John Albert Laing & Ralph Laing.
Mr. Laing was a tool designer and retired from Reynolds Engineering. He was a charter member of First Assembly of God, Bettendorf.
Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Mary Haynes, Bettendorf; sons David (Sherrie) Laing of Brooksville, Florida, Jack (Nancy) Laing of Bettendorf, Don (Maria) Laing of Lakeland, Florida, Scott (Sue) Laing of Lakeland, Florida and stepsons, Clyde (Karen) Janeski of Dallas and Fred (Irene) Janeski of Altamonte Springs, Florida as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
