Richard Munger

Richard L. "Dicky" Munger, 87, of Bettendorf, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at the Bettendorf Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus.

Dicky was born November 10, 1927 in Scott County, Iowa, the son of Murl & Sadie (Montgomery) Munger.  Throughout his life, Dicky faced many physical, mental and emotional challenges.  He had lived for many years at the St. Katherine’s Living Center in Davenport before residing at Bettendorf Health Care.  Dicky had also been employed at the Handicapped Development Center.

Music was his particular interest and the staff and residents of Bettendorf Health Care were his extended family.

Special thanks are expressed to Hospice Compassus and to the staff of the Bettendorf Health Care Center for all of the care and comfort they provided for Dicky over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Roger and Michael.
