Richard Roberson Sr.

Richard Ernest Roberson, Sr., 76, of Davenport, Iowa, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at home surrounded by loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the family at:  Family of Richard Roberson, c/o Robin Curfman, 12322 Hwy. He was born August 15, 1940 in Independence, Missouri, the son of Frank and Rosalee (Whitworth) Roberson.  He graduated from Raytown High School in Raytown, Missouri in 1958 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961.

Richard was employed by Henry Wurst, Inc., Kansas City, Missouri, for 20 years until he moved to Davenport and owned and operated four Subway Restaurants in the Quad-City area.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his golfing and fishing trips with his close friends and son-in-law.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children; Robin Roberson (Lyle) Curfman, Vicki Gravert and Jennifer Risley; eight grandchildren, Trenity Taylor, Lauren, Taylor and Morgan Gravert, Kayla Risley and Justine, Jon and Jake Roberson;  along with a host of devoted friends, including his son-in-law, Michael Gravert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Richard E. Roberson, Jr.; his brother Frank E. Roberson, Jr.
